redesign: Optimization of the fleet in service
The potential savings from pure “slow steaming” have been fully utilised with the existing technology. The EEXI and CII regulations now require even more efficient ship operation. At a vessel speed of 17 knots and a price for IFO 380 of 600 USD per ton, the application of a MMG escap® results in a reduction of operating costs of up to 96,000 USD for a single Europe-Asia round trip.
In addition, the optimized flow behaviour reduces cavitation on the rudder and hence reduces wear and maintenance costs.
